Prisoner's Kids
Fact: Children of prisoners are six times more likely than other children to be incarcerated at some point in their
lives. Without effective intervention strategies, as many as 70 percent of these children will become involved with the criminal
justice system.

What Went Wrong?™ is a program that offers inmates an opportunity to learn
about Christ and enroll themselves and their children in the CEF Mailbox Club™, an effective Bible correspondence program.
South Carolina Department of Corrections has given approval to CEF to go into all 29 state-run prisons to provide this program
for the inmates and their children. The first opportunity to introduce What Went Wrong?™ occurred at the end of
October. Nine Columbia area prisons were visited. As the inmates heard the help offered, many of them wept with
thanksgiving. In just under two weeks after hearing about the Mailbox Club, nearly 600 responses have been sent
in.
